Privacy notice
What Unscripted collects, why, who can see it, and how to get it deleted. Short version: the minimum to run the event, nothing sold, and your prompts are never stored.
Who we are
Unscripted is run by its organisers for the duration of the event. Questions about your data go to the contact address published on this site.
What we collect
- Account details: email address, English name, display name and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Profile details you choose to add: another-language name, avatar, organisation, skills, participation mode and a short bio.
- Event activity: your company and role, projects you publish, comments, exhibition visits and your current ballot.
- LLM usage: for every API or Intern request, the model, token counts, timing and status. Never the prompt or the response.
- Technical data: session cookies, IP address and request metadata used for security and rate limiting. Logs never contain request bodies or passwords.
How we use it
To run the event: accounts, teams, projects, voting rules, awards and the LLM service. To send you the emails the event depends on, and other news only if you opt in. To keep the platform secure. Public counters (like tokens burned) are aggregates only.
What is public
Company pages, published projects, display names, comments and live vote totals are public, including to visitors who are not logged in. Who voted for whom is never public: only the organisers can see individual ballots.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, a language cookie (EN / 中文) and an edition cookie (paper or night). There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Service providers
Hosting, email delivery, file storage and the upstream LLM provider process data on our behalf. Prompts you send through the LLM API are forwarded to that provider to generate a response; we do not keep a copy.
How long we keep it
For the event and a reasonable period afterwards to publish results and answer questions. Security logs are kept briefly. You can ask for deletion at any time.
Your choices
You can see and edit your profile, export your data and ask us to delete your account. Withdrawn votes and deleted content are removed from public view immediately.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this site and, where appropriate, by email.
